The Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) organized the AESF Esports Forum, implemented by the Thailand E-Sport Federation (TESF) and supported by the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) and the National Sports Development Fund (NSDF). The event was held on 9 October 2025 at Avani Ratchada Bangkok Hotel.

The opening ceremony of the Asian Esports Forum was honored by Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, who presided over the event. In his opening remarks, he stated that, on behalf of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, he was honored that Bangkok had been selected as the host city for this important forum, which brings together leaders, innovators, and thought leaders in the esports industry from across Asia.

He emphasized that esports is not merely online gaming, but a symbol of innovation and unity that connects people of different cultures and generations. Moreover, esports is a rapidly growing industry that creates employment opportunities and contributes to local economic development through events and tourism. For Bangkok, esports represents an opportunity to inspire young people, promote digital literacy, and strengthen communities through the integration of technology and sport.

The primary objective of this forum was to drive the development of the esports industry across the region while establishing a framework for international cooperation among member countries. The main theme of the forum, “Shaping the Esports Ecosystem and the Future of Asia and Beyond,” focused on the development of the esports ecosystem in Asia and its future direction.

During the event, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed between Mr. Steve Kim, Director General of the Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF), and the European Esports Federation (EEF), represented by Mr. Lukasz Klimczyk, Secretary General of EEF. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Mekan Eyeberdiyev, AESF Executive Board Member, and Mr. Karol Cagan, EEF Executive Board Member.

In addition, a Memorandum of Intent (MoI) was signed to express mutual commitment and to officially conduct the handover of the competition flag of the Asian Esports Games (AEG).
The flag was presented by Mr. Santi Lothong, President of the Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) and President of the Thailand Esports Federation (TESF), to Mr. Do Viet Hung, President of VIRESA, as a formal confirmation that Vietnam will host the Asian Esports Games 2026 in the coming year.

In addition to Thailand hosting and warmly welcoming a large delegation of members from the Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF), the event was also attended by Thailand’s esports network partners from all four regions, representing more than 50 provinces nationwide, who traveled to participate and attend the forum.

Furthermore, the event was honored by the presence of Prince Faisal bin Bandar Al Saud, a member of the Saudi Arabian Royal Family, who graciously attended the forum as a distinguished guest.
